Why did the Holy Spirit include so many descriptions of the stories of the kings in the Bible? The Lord was interested in leaving footprints and teaching us, through each story, important lessons for our walk as Christians. All believers have been called to be kings and priests. Therefore, we want to stop and examine these stories so that we may be instructed and equipped to satisfactorily reach our eternal calling.

Studying the stories of the kings who governed God’s people will present to us examples of their successes, failures, relationship with God and their families, manner of raising children, responses to the prophets, and interaction with other nations. Each of these stories will give us the instructions required for the king to receive blessing and please the Lord.
