The Real Christmas Story

Two thousand years ago, Jesus told His people that following traditions kept them from following the truth. The same mistake is being made today; one important example of this is the traditions that surround the Christmas story.

According to popular tradition, when Joseph and Mary ended their journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, they were forced to spend the night in a stable because the local inn was full and that Jesus was born that very night.

However, the Bible declares that “while they were in Bethlehem, the days were accomplished that Mary should be delivered. “This tells us that at least some days were fulfilled in her pregnancy while they were in Bethlehem.

The reason they were there was because Bethlehem was Joseph’s city. His family lived there. Why wasn’t Joseph staying in the house of one of his relatives? This drama shows why no relative or friend would receive the min to their homes.
