Typology and Numerology – 2004
In 1 Corinthians 10:11, when the apostle Paul says that those things “happened unto them for examples,” he is touching on the concept of types—the figures, shadows, and examples in the Bible that apply in a real way to the Christian’s life. This study of types, known as typology, has been taught and studied by great men of God for centuries. This course will demonstrate that God himself uses types in the Bible, and that we should therefore use them when we teach; it will explain the meaning of some of the main types in the Bible; and it will also equip students to apply the Scriptures to their lives in a practical way.
Biblical numerology is a branch of typology that studies the biblical meaning of the numbers used in the Scriptures. This is another area in which many Christians often lack knowledge. Nevertheless, the Bible contains a great quantity of numbers which, without a doubt, the Great Mathematician included as part of His message. We must use and understand the numbers from a biblical perspective. This course will expose the meaning of some numbers in the Bible, which will help us know more of God and the way that He established for us to follow.
